Management

Christopher  McNary, President and Chief Executive Officer, has more than 25 years of experience in Life Sciences and Diagnostic markets with 14 years in senior management positions.  He joins RainDance from Thermo Fisher Scientific where he was Vice President and General Manager.  He also has served as President and CEO of early-stage start-up companies and held executive management positions at Chiron Diagnostics and Tecan. 

Robert W. Cunningham, Vice President, Business Development, received his B.A. in Biology at the University of California, San Diego, and held research positions at Salk Institute and the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Prior to joining RDT, Mr. Cunningham, along with scientists and physicians from MIT and Boston University, founded endoVia Medical Inc. in 1996 to develop a new generation of robotic instruments for minimally invasive surgery. From 1993 to 1996 he served as President of Haemocell Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of British filtration technology manufacturer, Haemocell PLC. He entered the medical device industry in 1980 with the Haemonetics Corp., where he held a series of marketing and sales positions.

Darren R. Link, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Research and Development, holds a B.Sci. degree in Physics from Montana State University (Bozeman, MT), and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado (Boulder, CO). Prior to RDT, he spent two years at Harvard University as a postdoctoral scientist studying soft materials physics in the department of physics and division of engineering and applied sciences. Previous to joining the group at Harvard, Dr. Link spent two years at Tokyo Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral scientist studying liquid crystalline materials. He has co-authored more than 35 peer-reviewed articles and 8 patent applications.

Steve Becker, Vice President, Commercial Operations, joins RainDance from Agilent Technologies, where he served as Senior Sales Manager in the company's Americas Field Operations. There, he led the commercial introduction of novel genetic and epigenetic microarray assays that achieved over 20% growth rates in 2006 and 2007 in the research and molecular diagnostics markets. At GE Healthcare (formerly Amersham Pharmacia Biotech), Becker held several senior management assignments, including Director, Gene and Protein Discovery, and Director, Business Support. He also held sales management positions at Spectrum Chemical Manufacturing Corporation and Curtin Matheson Scientific, Inc. Becker received a bachelor's degree in biology from St. Mary's College of California.
